Snowdon Gallery 2

17th April - Snowdon - Wales

After rendezvousing at the famous Dinkys Diner in Shrewsbury for a hearty breakfast we arrived at the Pen-Y-Pass car park the starting point for our ascent of Snowdon.

Our route to the summit of Snowdon was to take us via the famous Crib Goch ridge; Crib Goch is a grade 1 scramble with a crux knife edge ridge that is hugely exposed with dramatic drops on both sides of the ridge.

We started our ascent following the well walked and popular Pyg Track, (short for Pen y Gwryd) after about 45 minutes we departed the Pyg Track and started the steep scramble up to Crib Goch ridge.
Have reached the ridge we were rewarded with some breathtaking views. We rested for a while just taking in the scenery, there really is no better place for a picnic!

A final push across the ridge and onto the summit of Snowdon. A descent via the Pyg Track got us back to the car park at Pen-Y-Pass at about 5.30pm, total walk time approx 6 hours.

An excellent day for all who attended, rewarded with exceptional views and a real sense of achievement following the successful summit of Snowdon via the stunning Crib Goch ridge
