An impressive past – An exciting future
Three time served sheet metal workers John Jenkins, Bill Jones and Bob Morrall originally founded ‘Radiator Shaping Services’ back in 1967. In those days it was known as and specialised in shaping central heating radiators to fit otherwise inaccessible spaces such as bay windows. Over time, this led to a focus on fabrication and working with sheet metal, and the standards of craftsmanship being applied were so high that we soon attracted the attention of leading names in the automotive industry of the time, including Rolls Royce and Jensen Motors.
The Queen's Car
Upon becoming a limited company in 1976 we changed our name to Radshape Sheet Metal Ltd. and our reputation for excellence within the automotive industry was such that we soon began dealing with clients from other highly specialised sectors such as marine. By January of 1997, Radshape Sheet Metal Ltd.relocate to a much larger, 28,000 square feet factory in the Aston area of Birmingham. By this time we’d taken over a tool making facility and a small fabrication company, and in addition to this had introduced laser cutting to the suite of services on offer. In 2000 we took the step of training all of our staff in the Kaizen method, an approach which puts the emphasis on constantly improving processes to deliver ever increasing levels of quality and value.
There have been various high points in the companies development including the honour in 2002 of proving the radiator grill and other brightware to Bentley Motor Company for the Queen's official car.
